Yes I have seen this question come up a few times just this week!  I
agree the facet change will make things more straight forward.

Sounds good.  I think I will start a new thread once I have some
concrete code for people to respond to.  Expect some rapid progress on
this because there will be two people from my work thinking about this
and a few other people on this list who have expressed interest.

No worries.  All of the javascript has already been devised and well
tested.  The main challenge for me will be this is my first custom
component and I am relatively new to Faces.  No better way to learn
more about it than to jump right in!
