I just added a *very* basic "hello world" app it contains only one clazz... so similar with a blank web app.
Steps: 1. get code from CVS 2. run ant
now you'll find myfaces-blank-example.tgz

Here is the listener in my web.xml copied from myfaces-examples:

org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener</listener-class>
</listener>
Any ideas?

For the near-term though, if you can use myfaces-examples.war as a starting point.
