The stuff at http://dean.edwards.name/IE7 does from the idea the same as http://homepage.ntlworld.com/bobosola/
They Iterate with _javascript_ over all png's and do a rewrite. As I have a minimum of 400 png's on one page, the IE needs ca. 30 sec. to display one page. So... until IE7 is out and used, I would favourite the "2 png solution"(Or better : This page runs under Mozilla/Firefox only *g*). But as I told earlier: I have not checked the solution. If it is not working, I have to think about different solutions. (Flash/Java Applet ... )
