I'm guessing he's talking about doing it with a single component. I think in theory, it is possible to do this (assuming I was reading the commons-fileupload documentation correctly) using an <input type="file"/>. However, if I remember correctly, the MyFaces component didn't look like it supported that. If I remember correctly, it looked like it assumed that one file was being uploaded. I never tested it with multiple files.
