The reason for the spec to be in Early Draft review is so that
interested parties can provide exacty this sort of feedback -- if you
think the same thing should be done to h:commandLink and h:outputLink,
please go to:

and provide feedback through the discussion forum (as well as watch
the state of issues and their resolution in the issue tracker).
