I've not tried to run any myfaces stuff on sun's server but I'm sure others have. Everything works fine on tomcat & weblogic 7 & 8 for me.
Could you provide some more detail?
BTW: Its usually better to post these kinds of messages to the users list (cc'd) so that if one of the developers is on vacation you are not waiting long for an answer. Also notice that we are now an apache project (http://myfaces.apache.org).
