well, this seams to be a google mail thing...
I have sometimes the same issue.

However, I haven't tried MyFaces w/ Jetty so perhaps it is possible,
that Jetty does not "see" the Listener declared in tlds.

However, have you tried RI w/ Jetty? Since the sun guys are also
declaring their Listener in tld file.
