@Mario, Just out of curiosity, what is the usecase for wanting to know the parent node (either the id or the node itself)? Mathias and I are going to kick off a new tree2 set of improvements and I am thinking about the id issue. I'm sure your usecase is a valid one. I just want to make sure that any proposed changes would address some of the current limitations.
