Hi Dave
You
can write PhaseListener for the Render Response, which will check for the Error
Messages (....Value is
required) in the facesContext.getMessages(); and add a global message
"Fields marked with (*) are
required"

Subject: override validation message
I have a table with 2 columns without header. Required fields are marked with (*).The following validation messages show up if user forget to input something into the required fields:"_idJsp263": Value is required."_idJsp255": Value is required. "_idJsp193": Value is required. "_idJsp193": Value is required. "_idJsp193": Value is required. I can not use id. If I do, all the fields in one column will have the same id because it is a datatable, and not meaningful. Is there way to override these message and simply say:"Fields marked with (*) are required"Thanks!
