Hi,

I’m just starting to play with JSF. My task is to assess the best approach to build components, several of which will be composite components.

I’ve followed the link explaining how to build composite components in the front page of the Wiki, and I’m trying every single one. From a first glance I thought facelets or Clay would be the best approach. My question is how they compare to each other? Are they both supported by my faces (The Exadel wizard to create a JSF project gives the options : My Faces, My Faces with Shale, Sun RI, Sun RI with facelets, which gives the impression that facelets and My Faces are not meant to live together)?

BTW, I’ve downloaded facelets and tried the tutorial in Tomcat, using the JDK 1.4.2.08. I got an error regarding the JVM version. I have to stick with this version of the JDK, because the other server we plan to use is Weblogic 8.1 SP4, which uses JDK 1.4.2.05. Is this a facelets limitation or could I download the source and compile it with my JVM version?

Many thanks,

Marcio.
