Exactly. I'm not much of a spring user, but now that you pointed it out, I'm reading up on Spring's template approach and my approach was definitely inspired by the Spring templates concept. I started with the Cayenne-spring template library and dumped the spring part (it wasn't adding anything for me and it didn't work well with JSF).
