Hi,

i spent a few hours searching the mailing-list about this issue. It seems to be the No. 1 FAQ, so please help me (and a lot of others) out and answer this thread if you have some information.

My Task: i need the myFaces (|| tomahawk || sandbox) sources.

What i did: read the f** manual. In lack of the manual, i read this list and the myfaces Wiki.

I searched this list for 'sources' which gives me 369 hits, mostly poor guys like me in desperate search for the sources. The frequently answered answer is: 'simply look in http://cvs.apache.org/builds/myfaces/nightly/, they are all there'. This information seems to be a deprecated, there are no sources in the nightly directory any more :-(

Whats´s next ? Let´s have a look in the Wiki. There is an article 'Building With Maven' which explains how to check out the sources and build it with maven. Sounds great and just three little steps to get through.

Step1 - Get SVN Client: I´m using Eclipse, so the subclipse plugin sounds good for me. Now, i can browse through the branches in Eclipse, but i can't checkout without building a new project for the branch. That´s rather not what i want, i just need a directory :-(

Step2 - Install Maven: this works fine for me. I downloaded it and added it to the classpath. 'maven --version' works ;-)

Step3 - mvn install: ooohh, tons of text in my shell, some warnings, errors etc. After a few minutes, it´s over, but nothing happened in my project directory.

Removing the sources from the nightly directory and switching to Maven were two decisions from ASF that brought a lot of confusion to the community (or i am the only Dummie around).

Can anyone be so kind and point me the actual way to the sources ?
