I'm using #{row.cols}. #{rows.cols} was a typo in my e-mail.
Do you have any ideas how I can debug this? There are no error messages
nor logs.

Make sure you're using #{row.cols} and not #{rows.cols}.
And yeah, if there's no valid row, you won't get a valid row.cols :)
