JMeter actually comes with a proxy server
that can sniff and record request parameters including cookies. I recorded a
simple session and tried playing back – but could not even get pass

you can ramp up the virtual users for the load test. Here are the first things that came up to my mind.. It has a scripting language. If you want to read username-password for
ex. from a file, you have to do some scripting. It has nice graphical outputs. It can do https.. Both the openSTA and jMeter doesn't support the simulation of
