The only difference I can see is there is an autoscrolling section in the one that doesn't work. I'm not familiar enough with what the autoscrolling does to tell what would fix it. Maybe turning autoscrolling off in your web.xml would do it. I'm having the same problems. Where are you getting the sample application at? Maybe I'll try that jar and see if it fixes it.
