and it works fine.

And for the <h2> tag, I have the best experience with

<t:htmlTag value="h2" />

(t: for tomahawk)

So your example would be:

<t:htmlTag value="h2">
        <h:outputText value="Welcome #{authedUser.firstName}" />
</t:htmlTag>
