Severity level of conversion errors

I've noticed that conversion error messages have a severity of "INFO". 
Thus, they are affected by the h:messages attributes infoClass and 
infoStyle. Meanwhile, validation errors have severity "ERROR", and are 
affected by the errorClass and errorStyle attributes. Is this per-spec?

Is there a way I can (via configuration or programmatically) change the 
severity of all conversion error messages for my web application?
