selectOneMenu and selectItem sample

Hi,

I need to create a drop drown and a submit button. On clicking the submit button I want to display some data depending on the selected item in the dropdown.

I cannot find a simple tutorial that explains how to accomplish this. How do I access the selected item in my java bean? Is it automatically stored somewhere? Where?

Please help.

PS - I am trying to develop a non-ajax version of this and then plug ajax into it later.
