Hi, the myfaces examples page for dhtml split pane is currently down, but you can have a look at the dojos toolkit examples page. Our split pane is similar to it, since it is a 1:1 conversion.
Just go to: http://dojotoolkit.org/ following choose "see it in action", then "layout widgets" and the SplitContainer is it.
