i had a similar problem.. it turns out that i had more than one application on my tomcat both were using myfaces.. but.. i removed one, while the other remained.. but i did not remove it properly... perhaps you have a similar situation...?
try looking inside the webapps folder... of your catalina_home and catalina_base and delete the tldcache.ser or somethig like that..
