Dojo and MyFaces

I see there is a tomahawk Dojo component.  Why would someone use this  
component over a simple <script /> tag?
How are people using Dojo with MyFaces/Tomahawk?  Has anyone built  
custom MyFaces/Dojo components?

Any info would be great as I m starting a project where I am hoping  
to use a combo of MyFaces/Tomahawk & Dojo.
