You can overwite encodeBegin AND encodeEnd doing the following:
in encodeBegin: backup and replace the responseWriter in encodeEnd: throw away the replaced responseWriter, do your rendered stuff reset the backuped original responseWriter do the original encodeBegin, encodeChildren(), and the original encodeEnd() again.
