Well, from my point of view, a tabbedpane is used to split a form in several panes, not to present several different forms (for that you can use easily different views) and of course if you submit/validate surrounding, *all* tabs must be validated (which is not currently the case, see http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TOMAHAWK-1012)
