I'll have to check, but my memory of h:messages is thatit always updates itself during PPR, so sounds like something may have changed here.

Hi, I noticed that PPR does not reset any h:messages contents located on a page. E.g., full page refreshing resets this message - provided that there are no news - while PPR (table paging or tree expansion) leaves message contents according to last page refresh.
