Even If I put this in the web.xml the stuff still breaks. I had already
excluded this is a plausible cause.

No,
If it was why would it work with 1.1.5 and not with 1.2?
Does the No factories mean that the initialization never ran, or that it
ran and failed?

I have a feeling I'm dealing with a much subtler classpath/class loader
issue. For instance if I switch the 1.2 jars into place and redeploy in
a running weblogic application server where the application is running
with the 1.1.5 jars, the application with the 1.2 jars works
successfully, however if I stop and start WLS the application fails.

Did anything change in this area from 1.1.5 to 1.2?

Has anyone else tried to run the examples using the 1.2 jars? If they
have and have succeeded I would be very interested in the WEB-INF/lib
they are using.
