Have you tried the latest snapshot of Tomahawk ? This problem was fixed pretty recently. As a frame of reference, I am using RI 1.2, Tomahawk snapshot, Seam, Tomcat, Embedded EJB pretty successfully. I had the same issue with jsCookMenu until upgrading Tomahawk.
