After the action, the new page is rendered as a result of the same request. This is normal JSF behavior, but you have a way around it. By putting a <redirect /> tag in your navigation-case, you enforce a redirect instead of a forward, solving your problem. However, be careful when you use this technique, because you kill the back button functionality of the browser (usually that's what you want when you use a redirect, but I don't know the context of your problem).
