I noticed the below problem and solution.
Submitting below problem/solution as a little help to community.

Problem:
========
     With Trinidad 1.2.(either 10 or 11 not 100% sure);
     Trinidad table column ( tr:column) without a headerText may ignore
the width , which is a preferred size.
      When headerText attribute of tr:column in a tr:table is not there,
depending on the values of contents under the columns
      the width can be ignored and it can be split equally, or some other
way depending on the data's length.

Solution:
========
     Have headerText attribute, then the width is always used regardless
of data.
     If headers are not wanted, then just set to "", then headers are not
shown, but the width is still in effect.
