Definitely 3.2.  CDI is down deep into the guts of 4.0 and there's been plenty 
of instability and TODOs with that.  The 3.2 release is specifically targeted 
at JPA2 and has plenty of people who will happily answer questions and track 
down bugs.

Really really hoping we can get 3.2 out by the end of the month.

We've been making big strides forward with 4.0, especially in the last two 
months, but these have been unstable strides for tinkerers :)  A couple more 
strides and things will settle enough to shift into the "ok, try this out" mode.
