I'm one of a group of developers who are starting a new Geronimo project, of
course using OpenEJB. I've been advocating writing most of our code in
Groovy 2.0 (now faster and optionally type safe thanks to the new
@CompileStatic option) rather than in Java.

Does anyone have experience with a Java EE project that makes extensive use
of Groovy? Are there any pitfalls (long pauses for garbage collection,
inadequate performance, etc.)?
