EntityManagerFactory instances

Is the best practice to create one instance of an EntityManagerFactory per
J2EE container?  For example we are running a Web Container and an EJB
(MDB) container in the same EAR.  Should there be one EMF instance for the
Web container  and one for the EJB container or can they share a single
instance ?
