Thanks for the link. Very interesting article. I realize that the focus of OpenJPA 2.0 has been on implementing the JPA 2.0 specification but, assuming this article is valid, the current performance is roughly half that of Hibernate. Perhaps someone closer to the codebase can offer an assessment, but this suggests there is room for optimization in 2.1.0 or later.
