That's odd.

The exception is coming from Oracle, OpenJPA is just reporting it. Are you
using OpenJPA's internal datasources (openjpa.ConnectionDriverName,
openjpa.ConnectionURL, etc) or a datasource from JNDI?


I noted few more observations, problem exist only for this table and the issue 
happens only
for some cases and some of the cases db updates works fine.

I don't see any H/W issue, but more like any bad cache from openjpa?
It is all speculation at this moment.
