Hi Ilan,
Three usual suspects for performance with OpenJPA are
 1. build-time enhancement
 2. database connection pooling
 3. L2 cache i.e. DataCache usage

Apart from (1), your configuration is using the other two. But keeping the
warm up out of timing measurements, you are in effect taking care of
build-time enhancement as well. So I will consider the configuration as fair
comparison with other vendors.

Your comprehensive and exhaustive work on this area is highly appreciated.
However, your measurements quite drastically differ from some my internal
and unpublished observations. And I have not been able to dive into
analyzing the difference due to other commitments.
