Apache OpenJPA is a persistent object management kernel for databases, relational as well as non-relational. For relational databases, OpenJPA is compliant to the Java Persistence Architecture (JPA) version 2.2. OpenJPA runs in stand-alone Java SE as well as containers e.g Java EE, Tomcat, Spring or OSGi.
