A comment re: Open Source project discussions: One of the key points that I took from Karl Fogel's book on Open Source is on the topic of discussions in the mailing list: http://producingoss.com/en/bug-tracker.html#bug-tracker-mailing-list-interaction "Make sure the bug tracker doesn't turn into a discussion forum. Although it is important to maintain a human presence in the bug tracker, it is not fundamentally suited to real-time discussion. Think of it rather as an archiver, a way to organize facts and references to other discussions, primarily those that take place on mailing lists." I appreciate you taking the time to make the ticket, but if we actually have disagreements, theyre probably best handled through the mailing list, and the result moved to the bug tracker as an archive, as a general rule. Just something I thought I'd mention, -- Christopher Schmidt MetaCarta _______________________________________________ Users mailing list [email protected] http://openlayers.org/mailman/listinfo/users
