For those in both groups, please forgive the post to OpenLayers and Mapnik lists.
I'm trying to calculate the number of tiles in an OpenLayers TMS layer, created with generate_tiles.py (SRS = Spherical Mercator) and Mapnik. I would be starting with a lat/lon (WGS-84) bounding box. I was hoping someone may have already done this before, before I start picking through the Python script. Is it true that each zoom layer has 4 times the tiles or the previous?
