Greetings All! OK, I've managed to make a lot of progress since my posts from a few days ago.
I've basically "recreated" the key core functionality that I had with my application when it was running with Google Maps (only now, I'm using OpenStreetMap and OpenAerialMap for the actual maps -- thanks for pointing me to those!) My map now loads up the data points from XML, plots them onto a Vector layer, and, when you click on them, a pop-up appears giving details on that particular marker. The problem I've run into is that, when my map initially loads, some points do not appear until you drag the map to the right a bit. I've come to the conclusion that this has to do with the "dateline wrapping" issue. (Apparently, according to what I've read in the archives of this mailing list, there's no functionality available to wrap a VECTOR layer at the dateline?? Is that correct ??) Has anybody written a work-around for this issue? To folks who are used to looking at Google Maps (which WILL show these same points continuously across the dateline), it's rather disturbing and if we slap this on a wall monitor here, well, it's gonna look like we're missing data. Thanks! -= Dave =- _______________________________________________ Users mailing list [email protected] http://openlayers.org/mailman/listinfo/users
