Hi, unfortunately the mailing list removes attachments, so we cannot see what language you are using OpenOffice in. Anyway, if my guess is right this is a known problem with some translations. Could you tell us what language are you using? Most versions (including English, Italian, German) do not show the problem.
And you may want to check with version 4.1.0 beta (yellow box in http://www.openoffice.org/download/ ) since we fixed it in all languages where it was reported.
