Well you can edit your windows menu to link to your OpenOffice program. To do this on a Windows you need to open the Windows Menu, right click and select, add program and a dialog will ask you to *Choose File* and go to your *Program Files *directory and select *Apache OpenOffice/soffice.exe*. This will add an OpenOffice icon on your menu and will have a quick access to OpenOffice.
