Did you have a computer or program crash? If so, there may be a lock file left
on your computer. This is a housekeeping file which is created to prevent two
instances accessing the same file; it is normally erased when the program is
closed, but if there is a crash it can be left and may make the next opening of
the file be readonly. Such files are hidden, so to see them you have to enable
"viewing of hidden files". How this is done depends on the operating system.
These files have a name similar to .~lock.filename.odt#
