Unfortuntaely you dont provide much information of value. I have no idea which version, which OS, what were u doing when it magically disappeared form your screen, or even what is ur openoffice setup.
Also where did you download it from, or if its even OpenOffice. I am not sure knowing you are doing a thesis help anyone.
