I don't see the point. Why not just put the windows on different virtual desktop spaces? Then, when doing Alt+Tab, you only see the windows of that virtual desktop space. I haven't used Windows for many years now, but as I understand it also windows supports several desktop spaces these days. MacOS X I don't know, I have never used it. Linux has had it for decades. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question entirely, as usual.
