If you don't have a backup and still have the file that was paginated 
strangely, or you have a partially corrected file, make certain you have a 
backup copy and then try the following things.  With the cursor in one of the 
malformed pages, see the name of the applicable page style on the left in the 
bottom row of the OpenOffice window, next to the Page m/n field.  E.g., the 
Default page style would be named there.

Double click on the style name there, whatever it is.  (Or go to the Format > 
Page ... menu item, which should bring it up also.)  This will bring up the 
properties for that style.  The portions to examine are the Organizer, Page, 
Header, Footer, and perhaps Footnote tabs.  

You can edit the style, if that is where the weirdness appears.  If this gets
