Your operating system is supposed to take care of that, not Apache OpenOffice, so ask on a forum for your operating system. Seems to be some flavour of Windows, so I can't answer it, otherwise I would. However, when you ran Apache OpenOffice for the first time, I think you should have been asked if you want Apache OpenOffice to be your default program for your documents. That could have solved your problem, I guess. Or maybe not. What kinds of documents are you trying to open? Maybe Apache OpenOffice just can't handle them?
