Well mr troll, it depends on whom you ask. Oracle planned to move OO.o to
JavaFX

https://audioboom.com/boos/26971-javaone-live-it-s-official-larry-ellison-loves-javafx-and-open-office
http://www.devx.com/blog/2009/06/ellison-hints-at-oracles-java.html

Two day later Gavin Clarke at the usual suspects was already twisting and
FUD'ging that announcement into somehow bad news
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/06/04/ellison_javafx_commitment/

If ORCL had succeeded w that move, today we'd have OpenOffice on Android
devices, for instance.
http://www.itworld.com/article/2761460/enterprise-software/what-we-know-about-oracle-cloud-office--openoffice-org.html

And it isn't the first time Gavin Clarke or ElReg engaged in ugly FUD. Most
of his statements on the above article about JavaFX not being open were
BS. JavaFX 2.0 is today under a GPL license as part of OpenJFX.

but the OO.o freedom fighters *sarcasm* wanted to pull the rug from under
ORCL's feet.

And they succeeded, with the killing of StarOffice -a successful product
which had made inroads in many corporations- as a byproduct of that move.

And it started years before the Oracle acquisition of Sun Microsystems, the
move started when the project was under Sun control.

Why do we continue to let trolls pull our leg?

The continuous whining from LO trolls who just want the OO brand name so
they can get the site traffic and downloads that AOO has on Windows is
getting tiresome, if you ask me. Dear LO trolls: Go away.
