("Superimposed" is exactly the right word.)
In Impress there isn't problem. In Write[r] we
must mark anchor not "as character" and adjust
must be "wrap through". For example in the first formula I write:
x R phantom{y}
In the second superimposed formula I write:
phantom {x} / y
You might want to make use of the Unicode
character U+0338 "Combining long solidus overlay"
(or the similar U+0337 "Combining short solidus
overlay"). I don't see any way to insert special
characters directly into the Formula window, but
you can copy and paste them from the Writer window.
o In the Writer window, go to Insert | Special Character... .
o Select a suitable font - not all fonts will contain the required character.
o Scroll down to U+0338 and insert this into your text.
o Cut the character from the text and paste it
into your Formula window, immediately after the
character needing the overlay. It will appear superimposed.
You may need to experiment with fonts in the
Formula facility (Format | Fonts...) to achieve
something that displays as you desire. I suspect
that there may be a risk of problems if you send
the resulting document to others. Is it possible
that a substituted font on a remote system will
not contain the required character or not handle
it correctly? But you should be able to use this
technique reliably if you intend either to print
the document or to export a PDF version - which
will embed the required font and which you can easily view to check.
I trust this helps.
