Hi all,
[using OOo 1.1.3 on Windows & Linux]
I have a question regarding my Table of Contents and Appendices.
I have a master document that includes many sub-document chapters and appendices. All documents use the same template (as per Jean Hollis Weber's instructions in "OpenOffice.org Writer").
Each chapter title is in Heading 1 paragraph style.
Each appendix title is in Appendix1 paragraph style (a new style I created), with level 2 titles in Appendix2 paragraph style.
Outline numbering (Tools -> Outline Numbering) is turned on to number the chapter numbers. I use the first 3 levels (1-3) for chapter numbering. I use level 7-8 for Appendix numbering, since this is in the A, A.1, A.2 format.
The master doc contains a Table of Contents, which is created from both Outline and Additional Styles (but not Index Marks). The ToC is evaluated to level 2. The Additional Styles that I have chosen are Appendix1 at level 1 and Appendix2 at level 2.
Now, everything works except for the Appendix showing up in the ToC. [neither level 1 nor level 2 shows up].
If I remove the Appendix1 and Appendix2 from Outline Numbering, they then show up properly within the ToC. (Of course, the auto-numbering of the Appendix then doesn't work.)
So it appears that creating the ToC from an Outline will trump whatever Additional Styles one might have. That is, if the styles are used in Outline Numbering but are at a level less than the Evaluation level, they will not be included in the ToC no matter whether they are in Additional Styles or not.
Is this the case? If so, is that a bug? And what alternative action can I take to make this all work?
Thanks for your help, Matt.
