Don:

I'm not sure, but I think your problem might be the PNG. I thought that
MSO doesn't support PNG. But then, it sounds more like a
formatting/placement issue. You are probably saving as .doc instead of
OOo native format, and since format is closed, yada yada, is it any
wonder it's not perfect? I have this problem to some degree between
diff. versions of MSO.

If you are sending to a co-worker and don't need them to edit, just
export to PDF and send them that. No problems!
