Subject: Re: [users] Right click = 100% CPU resource

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately that did not help.

It does not really matter what type of document I open for this
problem to occur. Even if I create a blank new document in Writer,
just right clicking on the blank document will cause the CPU usage to
shoot up to 100%.

Haseeb

Not too sure if anyone answered... my only thought (and I'm unsure
whether this would solve the issue or not) would be to check the
amount of memory assigned to OOo graphics. Have a look under the
OpenOffice.org/memory screen after selecting tools>options ... I think
the default "use for openoffice.org" = 9mb.

Try increasing and see what happens.

What sort of documents are open when you have this issue?

Hi all, I've installed OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 onto my newly-reformated
WinXP SP2 computer. I noticed that whenever I right click in the
workspace in Write, my CPU level goes way up to 100%. I have to wait
for almost 50s before the right-click menu pops up. It only does that
in the Write workspace, and not when I right click else where such as
tool bars. The memory usage is about 65mb and virtual memory about
66mb.

Here's my system info:
AthlonXP 1600+
768mb ram
MS WinXP SP2
JRE 1.5.0.0.1

I've installed OOo 1.9.69 too, and its still giving me the same
problem. The only thing "special" thing regarding my system that I can
think of is the large amount of fonts I have. But I had OOo 1.1.3
before I've reformated my harddrive and it wasn't giving me this
problem.

Thanks,

Haseeb

You need to find your dictionary.lst file. Mine was in
/usr/local/OpenOffice.org1.1.4/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst

Open that and see if it's loading more dictionaries than you need. Trim as needed.

That is a known problem in the fc3 rpm of OOo. It is also mentioned a bit earlier in this archive.

Cheers, Duncan
